ABOUT TEACHER TRAINING

Power4 Pilates Teacher Training program is designed to provide aspiring instructors with the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to become certified Pilates professionals. What sets our program apart is the comprehensive approach to training. Throughout four weekends (Friday-Sunday), students will master all essential Pilates modules: Mat, Reformer, Jumpboard Springboard, Exo-chair, Cadillac, TRX, Ladder Barrel, and Spine Corrector. These in-person sessions are thoughtfully spread over eight weeks, giving participants ample time to study, practice, and integrate their learning between weekends.

To further your journey toward certification, you'll also begin the specialized 100-hour Anatomy of Pilates online course, which delves into the essential anatomical knowledge required for effective teaching.

At Power4 Pilates, we offer the opportunity to interview for an Apprentice Instructor position. Successful candidates receive personalized development programs that prepare them for teaching on the schedule. Each program is tailored to enhance strengths, address areas for growth, and ensure the completion of the required certification hours.

If you're interested in Power4 Pilates’ Teacher Training program or becoming an Apprentice Instructor, please contact us for more information. We look forward to guiding you on your path to becoming a confident and skilled Pilates instructor.

72 Hours In-Person Classroom Training

Participants are required to complete 72 hours of in-person classroom training. These sessions will be spread out across four weekends and will include lectures, workouts, exercise demonstrations, and practice teaching. During this time, participants are expected to:

  • Learn and practice the Pilates exercises
  • Learn and interact with a multitude of apparatuses, including the reformer, exo chair, and Cadillac, to name a few.
  • Participate fully in all classroom activities
  • Understand and apply the principles of Pilates
  • Learn and uphold Power4 Pilates’ professional standards.

328 Hours of Self-Practice

Beyond in-person classroom training, participants are also required to complete self-study hours, which consist of personal practice, observation, and practice teaching. These hours are essential for reinforcing your learning and developing confidence as an instructor.

  • Self Practice: Self-practice encompasses both independent sessions that can be completed at home, in person, online, or in the studio. Participants also have the opportunity to purchase private sessions to help fulfill self-practice hours, particularly for apparatus training.
  • Observation: May be completed in person or online. Observation involves watching experienced instructors teach group classes or private sessions, either live or recorded. This provides valuable insight into verbal and manual cueing, sequencing, and class flow, and helps refine your own teaching skills.
  • Practice Teaching: Includes any Pilates teaching, whether it be at Power4 Pilates or with Family and Friends. If selected, Power4 Pilates offers an additional development program and studio employment opportunities.

100 Hours of Anatomy

95 hours of Anatomy (Anatomy of Pilates Course).

5 hours of Evidence-Based Pilates Strength Loading Concepts (EBP)

Exceptional instructors are built on understanding- not memorization.

Our 100-hour Anatomy curriculum is intentionally designed to give you a powerful, applied foundation in how the body moves, adapts, and strengthens within the Pilates method. Participants won't just learn where muscles are- they understand how they work in motion and how to train them safely through digital movement labs.

All participants complete this 100-hour Anatomy training to ensure a strong, professional foundation in anatomy, movement, and body mechanics.

  • Participants who have already completed a college-level anatomy course, or who are licensed healthcare professionals (MD, PT, AT, OT, etc. ), may request to waive this requirement.
